Our group’s name, “The Thinklings,” draws inspiration from the renowned writers known as “The Inklings.” Our collective aspiration has always been to explore writing as an integral aspect of the intellectual life and habit of the mind. Until now, we have individually undertaken various projects, with some publications appearing in journals, magazines, blogs, etc. Additionally, we have delved into podcasting on numerous topics. However, in 2024, The Thinklings have set a new goal: to share more written content on our website. As you read this, you are engaging in two activities: (1) exploring our inaugural written piece, and (2) discovering the space where future written content will be featured.
Why Writing is Important to The Thinklings
- Writing Helps us Think
- Writing Guides Podcast Episodes
- Writing Provides Written Content to Read

If you’ve tuned in to our podcast, you’re familiar with our affections regarding the life of the mind. Writing stands out as a crucial endeavor in any intellectual pursuit. Consider our slogan, “Good books, good thoughts, good conversation,” as an illustration: writing contributes to the creation of good books, shapes and nurtures good thoughts, and forms the foundation for meaningful conversations.
Our commitment to writing serves multiple purposes, providing an additional avenue for refining our thoughts. The endeavor to produce written content aligns with our broader objective of enhancing the quality of our podcast episodes. We express deep gratitude to everyone who has been part of our audience in the last three to four years, and we aim to consistently deliver content that is worthy of your time. Inking things will improve our podcast.
While our website posts (some may refer to them as blogs) will serve as a repository, we plan to delve into them more extensively during podcast discussions. Recognizing that not everyone may be inclined towards podcasts, we offer these writings as an alternative. If you prefer reading a short excerpt over listening, these writings are crafted with you in mind. While we won’t necessarily accompany every podcast episode with a written post, we are committed to developing more written content for you to explore. If you have specific topics you’d like us to write about, feel free to share your suggestions via email at thinklingspodcast@gmail.com.
When Will the Next Post Happen?

At this point, we make no commitments. If you want to be the first to know, subscribe below! We will have a trickle of posts before we get a stream, just to help set your expectations. We want to consistently write. That is not completely equal with consistent posting, at least right away. Please wish us happy writing, and we wish you happy reading (and hopefully listening too).
